February 8, 2012 Travel Channel's Hit SeriesCHEVY CHASE, MD (February 8, 2012) – Travel Channel returns with season six of the popular paranormal travel series, “Ghost Adventures” on Friday, March 9 at 9:00 p.m., ET/PT. Investigative duo, Zak Bagans and Nick Groff, along with equipment technician Aaron Goodwin, explore some of the most haunted locations in America to unearth the trapped souls and dark energy within. This season, the team visits spots that have never been explored by the Ghost Adventures team including the Peabody-Whitehead Mansion in Denver, CO, the Shanghai Tunnels in Portland, OR, as well as the family home of paranormal equipment inventor Gary Galka in East Granby, CT, where business gets personal as they help one family make contact with their dead daughter in a deeply personal story of love, loss and a haunted house. February 7, 2012 Travel Channel Names Marietta Hurwitz as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital to Lead Network's Expansion Across Digital PlatformsCHEVY CHASE, MD (February 7, 2012) – Travel Channel today announced the appointment of Marietta Hurwitz to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital. In this role, she is charged with overseeing Travel Channel’s iconic brand across digital platforms as the network focuses on multiple-platform expansion. Hurwitz will be responsible for establishing digital content and strategy aimed at keeping the network in the forefront as an entertaining, informative and reliable source for all travel-related products and services. The weekly half-hour series follows three teams of savvy “auction specialists” who travel to some of the most important and unknown auctions where their bids are based on sight unseen instincts. January 17, 2012 Muskrat Chili and Scrumptous Pig Ear Sandwiches on Your Superbowl Menu? Americans Are Getting More Adventurous According to New Travel ChannelNew York (January 17, 2012)—Beef chili, guacamole and pigs in a blanket might be common fare at most Super Bowl parties, but according to a recent poll, commissioned by Travel Channel “Bizarre Foods America” and conducted online by Harris Interactive, Americans might be upping their eating game at their next Super Bowl soiree. Out of the bizarre food choices provided, 32% (one-third) would eat muskrat chili and 18% (one in five) a pig ear sandwich! The online survey, which polled over 2,200 U.S. adults (age 18 and over), illustrates that when given the opportunity, U.S. adults have a surprisingly diverse appetite and adventurous palate for an array of “bizarre food” choices.
